Frost Creek Pool Update 6.1.26

Frost Creek Pool Update 6.1.26

Frost Creek Pool Project.  We began in late March with the scope of the project as strip plaster and tile and then replaster and retile.  Our timeline was to be open by Memorial Day Weekend.  As the contractor began work it became apparent that our issues were much greater.  We are fixing all these issues to ensure the pool is in excellent working order and will last for years to come. Each one is a big job and all three combined have pushed the timing of the project back.  The crew is working 7 days a week to complete the work and we’re shooting for a June 26th opening. I appreciate your understanding as we make these necessary repairs.

  1. We had 170 linear feet of cracks on the floor of the pool. They were there since the original construction and had simply been filled in with plaster. These cracks need to be cleaned, acid washed, filled with concrete (can only do when overnight temps don’t go below 40 degrees) and then fortified with concrete staples so they don’t expand in the future.

  1. All 6 of our skimmers were cracked and needed replacing. Easier said than done as they were sealed in about 2 feet of concrete. It had to be chipped away without damaging the piping below it.

  1. All of our coping (the top edge of the pool connecting the pool to the concrete pool deck) had failed and water was seeping out of the pool behind it.  It all had to be removed, new tile ordered and reinstalled.
